• Hypothesis 
• Objective of study
• What does the researcher intend to achieve through this study?

Literature review 

• What question or problem is the research study addressing?
• Demonstrate understanding of the variables and connected literature around each of the variables included or dropped (Explain understanding of the research area by connecting the current study to other prior or contemporary research and theories).
• What are the key concepts in your research questions and how are they defined by these papers?
• What are the key theories and models in the chosen area? Are there established frameworks innovative approaches to solve the problem?
• Have others tried out the hypothesis you are making? or nearly there? or the opposite of what you are proposing? 
• What are the results and conclusions of these study/studies?
• Explain how this study addresses a gap or adds something new to the knowledge base.

Tip ii:

How does the research relate to other literature in the field? Does it confirm, add to, or challenge established knowledge? How would the research contribute to the solution of the problem in hand? What are its key insights and arguments?

Research methodology

• Method of data collection (How you intend to collect data (methods and tools - quantitative and qualitative/ mixed methods)
• Tools intended to analyse data (Description regarding validity and reliability)

Ethical considerations 

You will keep in mind (consent forms of respondents/ permission slips of people/agencies, institutional application of approval How do you ensure the quality of the study? For example, control of bias, safe storage of data.

This autoethnographic research aims to examine my own progress in framing and using open- ended questions in my Grade 8 Social Sciences classroom to promote critical thinking.
