Your unit plan will specify the age range and the scope of writing achievements within the diverse group of students. The unit outline may incorporate other learning areas (for example, Science or History), but all key teaching and learning activities will be cross-referenced to either content descriptions in the Australian Curriculum: English    OR,  if you  are teaching a  secondary subject such as  Science, History, etc., refer to  the General Capabilities: Literacy for your subject on the ACARA website. In your essay, explain your role as a teacher of writing with regard to the implementation of your unit of work. Support your discussion with references to the scholarly literature on the teaching and learning of writing knowledge and skills in particular. Consider some writing-related issues that could emerge as you implement your unit of work and discuss at least two specific issues in depth. Make detailed connections between theory and practice throughout the essay. Explain how your unit of work caters for the diverse learning needs of students in your classroom.
