Electric Vehicle - Energy Transmission - Mobile Energy Hub - Wireless Power -Review Assessment answer
Assessment Task:

  1. Introduction:-

Wireless power transfer is one the most advanced technology which could be implemented on electric vehicles. This technology will provide a solution for various future energy problems and environmental issues. Though, electric vehicles (EVs) are highly profitable in every aspect, its design and working is high flexible with respect to the availably of power. Disadvantages of electric vehicles also consist of various issues related with cost, size, weight, energy density and charging time. Lithium- Ion batteries are used for powering electric vehicles (Gerssen-Gondelach,S.J., 2012), which have the highest ratio of volumetric energy concentration(Wh/L) and specific energy density (Wh/Kg). Specific energy density of Lithium-Ion batteries vary from100Wh/Kg to 265Wh/Kg and volumetric energy density varies from 250Wh/L to 670 Wh/L. This value is much smaller with respect to gasoline powered engine. The efficiency delivered by the Gasoline with volumetric energy density of 876000 Wh/L and energy density of 127000 Wh/Kg (Kurs,A.K.A., 2007).Long recharging intervals and mechanical problem with charging cables are another major drawbacks with battery served electric vehicles. Charging electric vehicle using static wireless power transfer could be an effective way to eliminate this problem. The dynamic wireless charging which allows the vehicle to charge while moving will increase the driving range of vehicle, on the other side decrease the maintenance cost and weight of battery packs. Wireless power transfer not only benefits customer but also pilots the use of renewable resources and distributed energy resources.

Literature review:-

WirelesspowertransferwastheconceptdevelopedbyNicoletesla(Bia,Z.,2016).WirelessPower Transmission work on the principle of mutual induction where two coils are coupled electromagnetically for transmitting power wirelessly where the secondary coil or receiver end is implemented in a vehicle which is used to collect the transmitted power which further  source (Li,S., 2015).
