Task: South African have faced several concerns in the energy fields. Major concerns include the depletion of fossil fuels and increased in electricity cost. We live in a world where energy demands are high due to the increase in human population. The people often aim to use alternatives to overcome these issues. Tidal energy is an option to generate the electricity without the using issues of depletion of fossil fuels. This method is an ideal since South Africa has an unlimited amount of this type of resource that is the ocean. This method is fairly new in South Africa, however, a few countries have already implemented tidal wave power generation. This thesis will concentrate on a design that will determine if 10 MW of power can be generated using tidal wave technologies. Literature is in the form of books, journals, and conference papers will be used to familiarise and understand the concept of Tidal Wave power generation. Discussions with subject matter experts and technical personnel will be considered.
