- S base = 100 MVA, V base = 110 kV.

- Prefault voltage = 1.05∠0° p.u at all buses

- The load (M: Motor) presents in the same manner as a synchronous machine at the fault moment.

- In your solution, present the current value in p.u and Amperes.

 

a) Draw the per-unit impedance diagram.

b) Calculate the Thevenin's equivalent impedance in p.u when the fault occurs at Bus 1.

c) Calculate the sub-transient fault current (????"????1)using Thevenin's method, and Calculate the fault current contribution through G (????"????1 ) and M (????"????1 ). [Bus 1 Fault]

d) When the load (M: Motor) is being operated at 100 MVA, power factor = 0.85 lagging, at 1.05pu voltage, calculate the load current (???????? ) and calculate the summation of the sub-transient current and the load current ???????? at G (????"????1 ) and M(????"????1 ). [Bus 1 Fault] (Make sure the direction of the fault current and load current.)

h) Verify your calculation using Power World Simulation fault analysis.

- On Bus 4, put the Generator (because The load (M: Motor) presents in the same manner as a synchronous machine at the fault moment.)

- Put the sub-transient parameters for Generator and Motor reactance (“Internal Sequence Impedance– Positive”).

- Your fault analysis results only show the sub-transient current. The simulation runs without the load current. (with only two generators)
