Abstract
Unlocking individual requirements for success has many combinations, identifying this may just provide the edge to help students succeed in an ever evolving industry. This essay provides verification that, emotional intelligence over state of flow and grit has a stronger positive influence on student success. Some evidence supported state of flow contributing to success yet conceded, flow can be an inconsistent state to sustain. Grit however, appeared to be negatively correlated to academic confidence, suggesting grits lack of contribution to reducing stress and other conflicting researched variables. Furthermore, school refusal was shown to be related to a lack of emotional intelligence throughout students educational journey. Compared to previous variables, possessing emotional intelligence from an early age was a strong predictor for students obtaining a higher education.
Intro
Distinguishing positive influence on student success is subject to each unique individual and many other factors that also contribute to students favorable outcomes. To truly encapsulate variables related to student success would see a large umbrella encompassing a broad spectrum of influencing factors (Hamish, Coates, & Matthews, 2018). For the context of this paper, we can describe success as; the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors (Macquarie Dictionary). Satisfying the requirements that proceeded the goal. Both student and provider challenge the importance of understanding personal relevant factors for student success. Education providers recognise the need to support students throughout the journey towards succeeding, therefore, offer an evolving process to scaffold a student's learning through assistance and further research (Lane et al., 2019). Students awareness towards success is expanded by concepts such as Emotional Intelligence State of Flow and Grit. Throughout this essay, we shall propose to analyse such, to determine that, emotional intelligence outweighs state of flow and grit as a stronger positive influence on students success.
