Task

1. Explain how and why the digital learning resource is to be used in a lesson. The justification should demonstrate an understanding of relevant theories of learning and teaching approaches. Using scholarly literature (Google Scholar, CSU Primo, CSU library, etc.) is advised.

2. Identify the intended outcome(s) and content from the science and technology syllabus addressed within your digital learning resource.

3. Identify and discuss common student alternative conceptions that are relevant to the chosen science focus of your digital learning resource.

4. Address the major elements of science and technology pedagogy (at least two) relevant to the design and implementation of your digital learning resource (e.g. pupils’ alternative conceptions, scientific inquiry, working scientifically/design thinking, higher order thinking, social constructivism, authentic tasks, cooperative learning, student-centered learning, etc.).

5. Describe how your digital learning resources fit within the 5Es framework. It is advisable to focus on one or two sequenced phases of the 5Es framework. This is not a hard rule – please discuss your approach with the subject coordinator if you are considering a different approach.
