Case study - Walk Each Other Home
In 2015, the Okines Community Garden (Okines) in southern Tasmania, Australia, collaborated with the University of Tasmania’s Centre for Rural Health (CRH) to explore how the garden community might provide better support for people at the end-of-life and in bereavement. The garden coordinators and volunteers prompted this partnership
Use the HELP framework (introduced in week4) to analyse one of the community case-studies from below. (You may choose any case study other than the ones listed below.) Tasks to be addressed include:
Select a case study that reports a specific public health palliative care initiative (Any one of the projects reviewed up to week 4 or from the ones listed below.)
Consider the design, process, outcomes and impact of the project using the HELP framework (what areas of interest to HELP have been attended to, what not attended to; how effective have these interventions been, how aware are the authors of areas unaddressed, are there other interventions that could have been attempted?
Drawing again on the HELP framework, propose ways in which this project could have been improved, enhanced or extended.
