Question 1 (85 marks) 

A pictorial view of a bevel gear support is given in Figure 1. 

Draw, in Third Angle Projection, the following orthogonal views: 

i. a Side View from B ii. a Half Sectional Front View on a vertical cutting plane A-A through the centre line iii. a Top View. 

Use the following dimensions: W=150, G=70, F=90 

Fully dimension, show hidden detail where appropriate and provide a title block. Use the ENG1100 border and complete the title block. Use a scale of 1:1.25 and plot on an A3 sheet. 

Question 2 (80 marks) 

Figure 2 gives a pictorial view of a cam bracket. Draw full size, the following views in third angle projection. 

a) a Front View taken from A – perpendicular to face “X”

b) a top view

c) a right side view of the front view

d) a Partial Auxiliary View showing the details of the inclined face “Y”. 

Use the following dimension α = 32^o 

Supply dimensions for the inclined face only. You may remove and rotate the auxiliary view to fit all views on the A3 page. Use a scale of 1:1, Dimension the auxiliary view only. 

Question 3 (75 marks) 

Make an Isometric Drawing of the support bracket shown in Figure 4. As per standard instruction for pictorial views in ENG1100, no dimensioning is required. Orientate the drawing so ‘View A’ of Figure 4 is in the direction of the shaded face of the representative isometric view of a cube shown in Figure 3 with the top of the ‘View A’ orientated towards ‘TOP’ as shown in Figure 3.
