1. Write a proposal for your research paper, using the Sample Student Proposals as rough guides for structure and style. Be sure to include the following elements:

• Two-part Title
• Context
• Topic
• Specific forecasting
• Thesis (your overall argument - as complex as possible)

2. Summaries

Summarize the arguments of three of your main sources (articles or book chapters), including quotations. These articles or chapters must be peer reviewed/scholarly sources (unless you have checked with me and been given permission to use long-form journalism by a well-established author), and they must be of significant length.
