2. You work for a surveying company. One of your clients wants to build industrial properties on undeveloped land near;

Prior to breaking ground, you have been tasked with determining survey marks that will be used  for the rest of the project i.e. to locate with high accuracy, the positions of the structures to be constructed on the ground. [10 marks] 

For each site: 

a. identify any existing survey marks and show their location (including dimensions) from the property on a clearly annotated sketch. (2 marks) 

b. describe the process that can be used to establish survey marks within each project site if the tolerance required is: (5 marks) 

i. ± 1 mm 

ii. ± 10 mm 

Justify your answer using existing information e.g. existing survey marks, topography, slope, measurements etc. Clearly state any assumptions made. 

c. Comment on the differences in setting out for a project with no existing survey marks versus a project with sufficient survey marks.
