You were sent by your organisation on a seminar, organised by the HMRC in the UK on entrepreneurship and small business management. Task 1: Produce a report addressing the following topics.
You have been asked to advise your colleagues at the organisation about learning from the seminar on different types and about typology of entrepreneurship. Make sure that you examine different types of entrepreneurial ventures and explain how they relate to the typology of entrepreneurship. Explore the similarities and differences between entrepreneurial ventures. For a greater understanding of colleagues at the higher levels in the organisation you may investigate a diverse range of entrepreneurial ventures to demonstrate an understanding of entrepreneurship in both the public and corporate sector. You may also critically examine the scope, development and growth of entrepreneurial ventures.

You are required to research and process relevant data on the impact of Small Businesses on the UK economy. In your report, you must interpret and assess relevant data and statistics to illustrate how micro and small businesses impact on the economy). You are expected in your report to explain the importance of small businesses and business start-ups to the growth of the social economy. You may further evaluate the differences small, medium and large businesses make to the economy, applying relevant data and statistics. You may also critically examine how small businesses have an impact on different levels of the economy (local, regional, national) and in an international context. Furthermore, you will present information on the key aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset. Determine the characteristic traits and skills of successful entrepreneurs that differentiate them from other business managers. You are required to assess how aspects of the entrepreneurial personality reflect entrepreneurial motivation and mind-set. You may also explore and examine different lines of argument relating to entrepreneurial characteristics. You may further analyse the characteristic traits, skills and motivational drivers of successful entrepreneurs, supported by specific examples. Finally, in your report, you will examine, using relevant examples, how background and experience can hinder or foster entrepreneurship. You may analyse the link between entrepreneurial characteristics and the influence of personal background and experience to specific successful entrepreneur. You may also critically evaluate how background and experience influences entrepreneurs, both positively and negatively, by comparing and contrasting examples.
