Your brief

In your role as a natural resource officer working for NSW Department of Planning and Environment (DPE), you’ve been tasked with undertaking a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) in the South Creek catchment. You need to assess the possible impacts of proposed large-scale urban development across the catchment associated with the growth of western Sydney.

In Week 4, you started on the background and desktop data analysis, then in Week 5 you conducted a field visit to the creek at St Marys to verify your REF desktop analysis and collect baseline data on various environmental factors for inclusion in the REF.

You now need to complete the REF (using the simplified template for ENVS3462) to a standard expected of an environmental practitioner working in industry. This means meeting the EIANZ Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, specifically relating to:
