There are several factors which can affect on enzyme reaction to proceed are temperature, pH, enzyme concentration and the presence of any inhibitors or activators. The rate of reaction will increase with an increase in temperature up to a certain point known as optimum temperature then any increase in temperature will result in the hydrogen bond breaking resulting in the enzyme denaturing so that it no longer works. The rate of reaction increases up to a point beyond this the concentration will no produce as they will start to get denatured. Some substrate reduces or even stop the catalytic activity of the enzyme in a biochemical reaction. They do block or disorder the active site. These chemicals are classified as inhibitors. The reason is they are inhibiting the reaction. Inhibitors which occupy the active site and they prevent the substrate molecules from binding towards the enzymes are known as competitive. Inhibitors which are attached to other parts of the enzymes molecule. They change the shape and they are called non-competitive.
