Description

For the purpose of this assessment, you are required to demonstrate your abilities to reflect on your own learning and practice in preparation for and during your early childhood ready-to-teach professional placement.

Step 1

Before placement, you should:

• Choose two focus Australian Professional Standards for Teaching – Graduate Level to focus on for Assessment 1 and 2. This is an entire standard, not one focus area, e.g., APSTs 2 and 3, not 2.4 and 3.1.
• Write a reflection on how you have progressed towards meeting these Standards up until this point (not included in the word count).
• Based on this reflection, set yourself two goals for your placement that are linked with these Standards.

Step 2

During placement, you should:

• Document your progress towards meeting the two goals as part of your placement critical reflection journal

After placement, you should:

• Write a critical reflection on the experiences that you had during your early childhood ready-to-teach professional placement in relation to your two chosen Standards.
• Include meaningful reflection on learning and practice utilising examples of placement practice.
• Critically reflect on your progress towards meeting your goals and your growth more broadly in relation to your two chosen Standards.
• Ensure that you articulate relevant links to the EC frameworks, policies, and legislations (and class readings, where needed.)
