The allocated time for oral presentation is 8- 10 minutes. Presentations must not exceed a maximum of 12 minutes

Case study one
You work as a case worker in a women’s centre. Your client Clare (aged 30), suffers from domestic violence. Clare has no children or local family support. 
She has contemplated divorce but never did divorce her husband. You have formed a close working relationship in which she is able to discuss her thoughts and feelings openly and with some degree of honesty
Over the last few weeks, you have noticed that Clare has become increasingly depressed. She has refused to seek medical attention, in a session with you Clare makes a comment that ‘life isn’t worth living’, that ‘it is all too much’ and ‘No one will miss me’.
When you tried to gently challenge this thinking, Clare discloses that she is planning to end her life soon. Clare requests you to keep the information confidential. What would you do?

Case study two
You work as a case worker in a youth refuge. James is a 16-year-old client of yours who has recently deceased due to a drug overdose. Several days after his death, his mother, who you have met on several occasions before and who had a good relationship with her son (James), comes to the youth centre to thank you for providing case support to her son when he was under your care.
James’s mother requests a copy of all his case notes from you. She says reviewing them would give her some closure around her son’s death. What would you do?

Case study three
Laura is a client with a homeless service organisation who has been supported by her case worker Keith. She and Keith are of similar ages, and through conversations they have in their professional interactions; it seems that Laura and Keith share several interests.  
Keith is able to find an independent community accommodation for Laura and is soon is no longer a client of the homeless service organisation. 
A few weeks later, Laura visits Keith in his office.  Laura discloses that she is attracted to Keith and asks him out on a date? She states that as she is no longer a client of the organisation, them seeing each other socially or romantically should not be a problem.  

Case study four
Kristina is a case worker of Beth, a client who has experienced domestic violence. After working together for well over a year, Beth is able to leave her abusive partner, settle independently and re-engage with work. During their interactions, Kristina and Beth often discussed the symbolism of a butterfly as transformation and change. 
A few months later, Beth visits Kristina. Beth reveals that she has been successful with her career and in life.  Beth thanks Kristina for her support and hand over a golden butterfly broach as a gift.

You work as a domestic violence case worker in a local community shelter.  For the past six months, you have been helping your client Julie in supporting her with her domestic situation.
 A month ago, Julie separated from her violent partner and was relocated to your shelter. Julie has launched divorce proceedings against her partner. You recently received a subpoena to provide case records of your engagement with Julie and provide a testimony to the court in relation to the divorce proceedings.  You are asked to disclose information that you consider confidential.  What do you do?
