Mr. Ben is a 65-year-old male who is a beekeeper. He has been stung many times by bees, but today he got stung on his right arm several times. Within 10 minutes, Mr. Ben reports that he got very nauseated, and the palms of both hands and the soles of his feet became very itchy. He told his wife to call 911. When the paramedics arrived, Mr. Ben was beginning to lose consciousness, but he was still able to speak with a squeaky voice.
The paramedics administered 125 mg of solumedrol intravenously, 50 mg of Benadryl intravenously, and 20 mg of Zantac intravenously. Immediately Mr. Ben became awake, alert, and oriented. He said, “I thought I was going to die.”
