Problem Statement:

To build a Matlab (simscape) model with the control system of an existing water distribution system. The model should be able to switch OFF or ON, centrifugal pumps and valves to control the flow of water depending on the quantity of water available in the water storage tanks.

Existing water distribution network:

The layout of the water distribution system is as shown in the below figure. The water supply procedure from the overhead tank to the mechanical building is as follows. The water to overhead tank (T1) is received from MC (Municipal Corporation) and Borewell pumps. From an overhead tank, water is supplied to various buildings through different sized pipelines. Sump, Pumps and valves are present in the water distribution to control the flow of water.
