Assignment Task

1. Design an educational resource (for patients, carers or staff) which explains an evidence-based nursing intervention and which details the supporting, underpinning evidence.

2. The nursing intervention can be field-specific or generic, but it must be applied to your field of practice.

3. The educational resource can be presented in any format (leaflet, poster, picture board).

4. The resource must be delivered using Microsoft PowerPoint, and must be incorporated into 4- a slide presentation, which will aide discussion. [Maximum of 4 slides, plus unlimited reference slides].

5. When designing the resource, you must demonstrate consideration of the needs and preferences of your target audience (service users/carers/staff) and be able to express your rationale for the design along with supporting evidence/justification.

6. You must incorporate a critical commentary detailing the process taken to develop the resource. Such as, how you searched for, appraised the quality of, and selected the supporting evidence.

• This may include a discussion about its purpose, practical guidance on how to apply the evidence-based intervention, instructions, or decision-making flow charts.
• The relevance and significance of the key supporting theory evidence guidelines statistics related to the nursing intervention.
• With the needs and preferences of target audience in mind and with reference to supporting evidence, the rationale for your chosen design format e.g., language/terminology used, visual layout/aids such as graphs, charts, or diagrams.
