In this assignment you will model a second generation bioethanol production process (while not considering the interaction of inhibitors such as furfural).
Tasks
Task 1: Setup a model for the above bioethanol production process based on the information stated below. Assume the following initial conditions X0 = 2 g/l, Glu0 = 40 g/l, Xyl0 = 23 g/l. (80%)
Task 2: Plot the models output on an excel spreadsheet (20%)
Hint: In this form of the equation, Vglu and Vxyl is essentially telling you the rate of consumption of Glucose. While the yield coefficients tells you how much Ethanol and Bio mass will be produced for that yield. i.e for 1g of glucose consumption there will be (YEtoh/glu grams of ethanol produced AND YX/glu grams of biomass produced )
