Group Report
Overview
Each group is required to select an Australian company from the list provided on the LMS. The company should align with the industry chosen for your individual assignment. it is highly recommended that you discuss and align your views with your group members before starting this assignment. You will need to collect relevant information about your company from the company’s website, DatAnalysis, or IBISWorld databases, and prepare a report on your chosen company.
Introduction
Briefly describe the profile of your chosen company, including nature of the business, industry, and the company’s position within the industry.
Financial Analysis
You are required to analyse and compare the financial health of your chosen company over a fiveyear period (2019–2023). This analysis should also involve comparing your findings with the industry averages (or median) outlined in the industry analysis report (individual assignment). You must provide detailed explanations in relation to the following key financial health metrics. The assessment of financial health should cover:
- Common size analysis:
- Prepare a common-size income statement, meaning calculate all income statement items as percentages of sales/revenues.
- Prepare a common-size balance sheet, meaning calculate all balance sheet items as percentages of total assets.
- Profitability analysis: Calculate the ROE and ROA for the five-year period. In your analysis, use the disaggregated framework for both ROA and ROE, and comment on the contribution of each factor in determining these ratios over the period.
- Operating management evaluation: Calculate gross profit margin, EBIT margin, EBITDA margin, and NOPAT margin for 5 years.
- Investment management evaluation: Calculate assets turnover, net working capital to sales ratio, accounts receivable turnover, days accounts receivable, inventory turnover, days inventory, accounts payable turnover, days accounts payable, and cash conversion cycle ratiofor 5 years.
- Financial management evaluation: Calculate current ratio, quick ratio, financial leverage, interest coverage ratio and net debt to common equity ratio for 5 years.

You are required to conduct a prospective analysis for your company, providing a 10-year forecast of key metrics including (see appendix A for more information):

Recorded Oral Presentation
Overview and Requirements
The presentation will be a group effort, with 50% of the assessment based on the content of the presentation and 50?sed on individual presentation skills. Each group is required to prepare and present on their Australian company. The time allocated for each group’s presentation is 5 minutes per student for a recorded oral presentation. For example, if the group consists of three students, the presentation should not exceed 15 minutes, and so on. The group presentation should provide an overview of your findings from both Assessment 1 and Assessment 2 (i.e., the industry analysis report and the company financial analysis report). Unlike your reports, it is not feasible to cover all points discussed in your reports during the presentation. Therefore, your presentation should focus on the most significant information from both reports.
