ASSESSMENT DETAILS AND INSTRUCTIONS Research the development of a new food or beverage product of your choice.
Draft an overview of the outcomes of the research project based on the concepts and principles covered in the unit until Session 4 (inclusive) and using the following questions as a guide for structuring your overview:
1. What is the product? Briefly include history and how it fits into the market in the modern context as well as what type of new product it is, i.e., line extension, innovative, creative etc. 2. What type of consumer is it targeting? 3. How does the product fit in with Global, National and Local food trends? 4. How is the product marketed and positioned? 5. What are the findings from sensory and/or consumer evaluation activities (known and/or conducted by you)? 6. What is the type of packaging used including its function, consumer appeal and brand signalling and health claims (including justification and legal aspects) used?
You must use at least four (4) in-text references.
