Food Quality Management Assignment :

A company wants to know if their packaging machine is working within specifications (9.9g to 10.1g) so they take 108 samples of the packaged product every hour and weigh each. Trying to make sense of the data by looking at the table is very difficult. The numbers tend to merge into each other and although you can see some numbers that are out of specification (e.g. sample 2 which is clearly below 9.9g), it is hard to get a “feel” for the data. Viewing the data on a chart should help and this can be done using Microsoft Excel. Open the Excel file “D-licious.xlsx” that is on edu (http://lcb.edu20.com), select the data (D-licious weight), click on Insert, click on Line then select 2-D Line. A graph will automatically appear....

Needs :

Using a set of graphs, one for each machine, identify which machine(s) are producing unsatisfactory performance. Make sure that your charts have titles and all axes and plots are labelled. A malfunctioning machine will have lots of readings outside of the upper and lower specification limits which will show up as a greater spread of values in the table and on the histogram.
