Part 1: The Application
You are required to submit a fully functioning mobile application. The platform or approach you choose to develop your application is up to you. Your application may specifically target either Android or the iOS platform. Your choice of platform and development tools should be influenced by:

The hardware and devices available to you

Many of you will have Macs or PCs in combination with Android, iPhones, iPads and Windows Phone. It is therefore is advisable to develop for the devices you have the best access to, since, for the most part, you will need to use them for the majority of device testing.

Your familiarity with development environments and programming languages

If you have experience with IDE’s such as Visual Studio, XCode, Eclipse or Android Studio and programming languages such as C#, Objective-C, Swift, or Java then you may prefer to develop natively for one of those particular platforms. Many of you may be more familiar with web standards (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS) in which case a Hybrid framework (like PhoneGap) might be more appropriate.

Skills you wish to acquire

Some of you may have aspirations for a particular job role which requires a particular skill set in which case the flexibility in this module allows you to develop new skills.
The type of application you decide to develop is also up to you. However, it must be an application that is installed natively on a device. A mobile web application or mobile web site hosted on a remote server is not sufficient.

Your mobile application should

1.  be dynamic - not consist of purely static content.
2.  support high levels of interaction.
3.  enable personalisation.
4.  utilise native functionality of the device where appropriate (GPS, sensors, etc.)
5.  provide some functionality even without an Internet connection.

It is wise to continue development of the prototype application developed in the previous assignment. You should take advantage of the feedback you received for assignment 1. You should consider how the app you develop will enhance your current portfolio. We will cover many of the options open to you in class.

Part 1: The Application
Your submitted application should be contained in a single zipped folder and include the following:
1. A redistributable mobile application file (APK, IPA etc.)
2. All of your source code (project files)
3. A README file which details which platform your application is built for and how to build it.

Part 2: The Report 
Your report must be submitted as a single PDF file. The contents of the report should not exceed 2000 words in length. This excludes the referencing section and the grading matrix. Tables and figures are excluded from the word count. No appendices should be used. There will be a +10% margin, beyond which nothing will
be marked. Your report must include the following sections:
