After a lot of study scientists research concluded that only 13.8% of drugs pass clinical trials successfully and there is a lot of expense invested in new drug research and production which gets approval from the FDA. (Reddy & Arsene, 2019) Artificial Intelligence in the pharmaceutical industry can be another milestone for getting a high chance of success for medicine approval and at the same time can decrease the cost and time spent in the manufacturing of new medicines. (Mak, 2019) The use of AI technology can become a versatile tool that can be applied simultaneously in various stages of drugs development to give an instance, validation, and identification of targets drugs, designing of new drugs, repurposing drugs and changes in R&D efficiency analyzing biomedicine information of decision-making process to engage patients for clinical trials. Since good health and wellbeing are also a common sustainable goal of the United Nations, considering this we are trying to enhance this by using Artificial Intelligence for the discovery and development of drugs. Realising that AI is very powerful and that its potential can be utilised here, we are looking at the possibility in which data-driven approach can be used with AI to generate faster and more accurate insights. With the use of AI, it can help us to generate tremendous within a short period of time. Usage of AI can also reduce the development period of the drug since the pre-clinical period can be shortened by data-driven discovery and faster target identification of the drug, this helps us to have faster access to the drug. After the discovery of a drug with the help of AI, it can also be used for the mass production of the drug, since it will make the drug cheaper, making it available and cheaper for everyone. (Bhardwaj, 2018)

The pharmaceutical industry plays an important role in the life of every person, it comes up with new and different types of drugs for different kinds of diseases. These days a number of diseases are evolving with no proper drug to overcome it from the roots.  For e.g. 2020’s outbreak of coronavirus, there is no proper medicine to cure the coronavirus and it is flowing with no borders to stop. While preparing a new drug, pharmacists fail to analyse the proper composition required or even sometimes fail to understand the actual component needed for the development of the new drug or medicine for the development. Another problem lies in the pharmaceutical industry is most of the developed drugs are either prepared manually or by robots, even in robotic preparation the ingredients are given manually, so a high risk of composition alteration of the drugs persists. This alteration of the composition may lead to rejection of the medicine in the lab or cause side effects to the consumer of the medicine.

Artificial Intelligence is the evolution in the world technologies, few industries have already adopted AI as a key factor while few industries are yet to include it. AI has the capability to give solution to any practical challenge in any industry. (Bhardwaj, 2018) AI can help solve the problem in research and development of the pharmaceutical industry as it has the capability to give a detailed report of the problem which will serve as a stepping stone and also guide with the solution to the problems in research in development. (Bhardwaj, 2018) AI can also be introduced in the manufacturing process of the medicine so that the error of alteration in the composition is nullified. AI in the manufacturing process can increase the efficiency of the company as well as the industry because manufacturing will become easier and more economical for the company. 

The aim of the proposed project is to implement Artificial Intelligence in the pharmaceutical industry in the manufacturing process of new medicine so that the error in alteration of composition is nullified and the developed drug can effectively pass a clinical trial and also be efficient in tackling new diseases. It is very important first to understand how a component present in a drug while being taken interacts with the body and what would be its effects later. 

The backing of research and development is outrightly the most common scenario for artificial intelligence applications in the pharmaceutical industry. By making predictions about how the drug may react when manufacturers try to turn it into a pill, liquid medicine or any other powder form, artificial intelligence can help companies manufacture drugs more efficiently.
