Notes for the Student: This Assignment is one of three that is designed to give you practical experience in creating assets in 3D Studio Max.

Background: You will need to have access to the latest edition of 3D Studio Max and Photoshop.

Assignment Submission Requirements:

• An electronic copy of your work (at least a 3d studio max file is required) should be uploaded to the Blackboard by midnight on the deadline date. 
• The written report must be in pdf format and must contain the following: -
  • A cover page.
  • A table of contents.             
  • Screenshots of your project, with relevant descriptions, detailing whether the functionality was met or not met, as specified below.

Additions:

In order to receive a higher grade you will need to add to your scene... some ideas are:

• animate your train to run around on the track you created - involve animating wheels and structs, train must stay on track. train must slow down and stop at the train station for about 3 seconds before continuing
• A water feature or water ride -
• Lights and details - light your scene, create lamps, create animated lights that attach to your train etc.
• Add a railroad crossing gates and light system so that every time your train goes by, the lights activate and gates go down –
• Keyframe and physics-based movement –
• A different plant structure created using space colonization algorithm -
