Section two discusses three issues that relate to new graduate nurses (NGNs), and their connection to gender issues. The three issues identified are as follows (1) Lack of confidence and fear (2) Lack of support and work overload (3) Theory to practice gap. The review will also explore strategies that can facilitate the transition of NGNs from academia into practice which are (1) Transitional Programs (2) Preceptorship (3) Education and Orientation.
