Gender Role Stereotyping in Children's Literature Assignment

Discuss five articles that relate to gender roles and/or gender stereotypes in children 3-12 years of age.

Your selected articles should be published no earlier than 2018. For each article, provide an overview that includes:

• How the study aims to address an important issue regarding to gender roles and/or stereotypes
• Participant characteristics such as age
• Method, including research design
• Main results

Note: Some articles will include multiple studies e.g. Charafeddine et al. (see below). It is acceptable to focus on one of the studies rather than covering all.

In addition to the five articles, provide an overall discussion relating the articles to theories of gender role development. You should consult five further articles for the overall discussion. You may use one or more of the following three articles.

You may also use five articles that are not on the list below. When selecting articles, please ensure you have checked the readings listed below so you are aware of the required quality of research to be included.

All articles must report empirical (primary) results. Review articles should not be included.
