Instructions for assessment Assessment is the process by which the University appraises the knowledge, understanding and skills of its students. Assessment will be explicitly designed to measure student achievement of the intended learning outcomes, and all intended learning outcomes will be summatively assessed.
Summative assessment 1
Summative 1 assignment is an ONLINE multiple-choice quiz (MCQ). MCQ is a form of an objective assessment in which students are asked to select only correct answers from the choices offered as a list.
The MCQ covers material from week 1 -7 and is available for 3 days.
Link and information will be announced in week 8 on Moodle and students can take the exam only once. MCQ consist of 35 questions and weighting is 25%. Duration of MCQ is 60 minutes and the window will close automatically after 60 minutes.
Summative assessment 2
Students must write and individual report based on the following tasks:
1) Select a service organisation from fortune 500 list and construct what you assume to be its supply chain. (Develop a graphic). Construct the service concept as in Figures 3.1 and 3.2 for the selected organisation. (Book: Operations Management: Improving Service Delivery, 4th edition)
2) How does the organisation manage its supply network? Who are the parties? How effective are they? What are the mechanisms for review and improvement?
3) List the strategic alliance(s)? What would you require in a partner in such an alliance?
4) What methods are applied in identifying the influencers of customer satisfaction, given that some aspects of service may be unconsciously experienced by customers?
