Part 1 – Updating the Case Study - GMBA6001 For the initial part of the assignment you are required to provide a detailed written account of what has happened to Uber in Asia (especially – but not exclusively –  in China and India) since the original case study was completed in April 2017. Completing this task will essentially involve a process of two-steps: (i) a comprehensive search of the Internet (or other data sources) to discover legitimate information about the development of Uber in Asia over the last 12-18 months (please, not Wikipedia!); and (ii) a detailed written summary of this information. The search for information should focus on legitimate sources. While these can sometimes be hard to determine, sources like company websites, press releases, and stories from credible, well-known newspapers and periodicals (like, for example, the Economist) are good examples. Part 2 – Responding to Questions - GMBA6001 For the remainder of the assignment, you will need to prepare answers to the following questions (relating directly to the case study). Your answers should engage with any relevant globalisation theories and concepts discussed in class.

1. Drawing on what you know from the case study, and your case study update in Part 1, was the decision by Uber to retreat from China by surrendering to ‘Didi’ a wise move in retrospect? If so, why? GMBA6001
2. What features of globalisation do you believe have helped or hindered the growth of ‘platform economy’ businesses like Uber? (while Uber should be the focus of your answer, you can also choose to discuss other examples, like Airbnb or Amazon.)
