Business Strategy Assignment:

In 1948 two local women volunteered to run a kindergarten service two-days per week in the St Andrews Presbyterian Church Hall, Blacktown. The following year, a Ladies Auxiliary was formed from the Blacktown Progress Association providing a five- day week kindergarten service. In 1953, the Ladies Auxiliary called a public meeting and formed Blacktown Kindergarten Association, and by 2000 become Incorporated. The organisation later renamed to Children First Incorporated and up until 2011 was governed voluntarily by parents and community members. In 2012, as part of the company’s strategic growth strategy, the organisation transitioned to a company limited by guarantee and is now governed by a board of directors. The legal entity name was registered as Growing Potential Ltd, however, remained trading as Children First. Growing Potential Ltd is currently managed by a Chief Executive Officer and three Executive Managers overseeing Administration, Children’s Services and Family Services. The board of directors consists of seven members. Growing Potential Ltd is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC). We also have DGR and PBI status, meaning donations over $2 are tax deductible.
