Factors associated with burnout syndrome in a health profession of your choice Option B Alternatively, you may choose to update an existing published systematic review or qualitative synthesis. The review you choose must meet the following requirements: 1) The date that the searches were completed should be earlier than January 2017 [If information on searching dates is not available then the review should be published no later than December 2016]; 2) You must not choose a Cochrane Review; 3) At least 2 new studies eligible for inclusion should have been published since the review. If you choose this option, then i. The existing systematic review is counted as an included study. Hence you will be including a minimum of 3 studies: one systematic review and two new studies, but you should include no more than 5 new studies. In addition to reviewing the new studies, you should rigorously critique the methods of the existing systematic review using (at the least) an appropriate quality assessment tool, and improve on them wherever possible e.g. search more databases; use the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool (for RCTs), expand the original conceptual framework etc. ii. Your review should integrate your studies with the results/findings of the existing systematic review, i.e. your review is not simply a supplement but a complete review in its own right, and iii. You may choose a narrower focus than the original review (i.e. conduct a partial update by including only a subset of studies from the original review) provided there are at least 2 new studies that meet the narrower focus. You must present the data for and re-analyse any previous included studies alongside any new studies you have found, and the total number of included studies should be 5-6 overall. To gain the highest marks, you should provide a clinical justification for the narrower focus.
