Walmart boasts not only such extensive capital gains and profits but also the number of employees who are part of the company; that number stands at roughly 2 200 000 employees (Fortune, 2020). Sam Watson founded Walmart in 1962. Walmart's primary mission is to "help people around the world save money and live better – anytime and anywhere – by providing the opportunity to shop in retail stores through e-commerce (Walmart Annual Report, 2019). Through the use of innovation, Walmart is continuously striving to improve their customer experience through its e- commerce and retail stores worldwide. On average, more than 275 million customers visit Walmart stores or shop through e-commerce websites worldwide (Walmart Annual Report, 2019).
