Brief

As part of the formal assessment for the programme you are required to submit a Digital Health Leadership assignment. Please refer to your Student Handbook for full details of the programme assessment scheme and general information on preparing and submitting assignments.

A suite of six digital badges that are achieved by demonstrating digital innovation leadership skills for health and developing a business model with a product or service in digital health:

• How to develop a business model in digital health – from profiling to prototyping, sourcing, and scaling
• Problem and solution fit; customers and relevant stakeholders
• How to prototype; develop an MVP and a value proposition; competitor analysis; find your USP
• Go-to-market strategies and sourcing, such as building a team; value chain and intellectual property

Data security and privacy, cyber security, and the associated policies and procedures. This will also cover preventative cyber security breaches. Answer the following:

• What is data privacy?
• What is data security?
• Give 3 examples of data security breaches
• Which law covers how data is stored?
• What is cyber security?

The following scenario must be used to answer the criteria for badges

• Although ownership of smart phone and tablets is increasing rapidly, their use is underrepresented in older populations, who are the largest users of health and social care services. However, research in 2014 from Deloitte’s telecommunications Media and Technology Predictions report suggests that this situation is slowly changing and those born between 1946-1964 are starting to use smartphones to engage with exercise, lose weight and monitor their own health.
• Digital and mobile technology have a wide range of applications in health care from chronic care management to helping with complex health analysis. As health and social care moves forwards technology is an important part of this transformation.
• How would you convince your chosen health or social care situation to invest in innovative technologies to support this trend?
• Produce a poster of the solution, including USP and proposition. The poster should be one sided., approximately A3 sized. This can be either a digital poster or a traditional poster that is scanned/photographed and uploaded.
• Produce a 5 slide PowerPoint presentation that outlines an analysis of competitors Add a transcript to support your slides.
• 5-minute podcast or Vlog to sell the solution to board/investors/clinical and non-clinical management. Demonstrate the ability to post on service websites, through media, in conferences etc.
