Piper cambodianum P. Fourn. (PPF), a member of Piperacecae, is a plant found in Vietnam that might have therapeutic properties, since Piper betle Linn., which belongs to same family, is used in variety of decoc- tions for curing wounds, burns, lymphangitis, and eczema. In addition, juice from the leaf of Kammaru, which is a variety of Piper betle, has the ability to heal pharyngitis, abdominal pain, and swelling. Its roots and fruits are well known for use in the treatment of malaria and asthma.9,10 The mechanistic action and pharmaceutical function of PPF in skin protection has yet to be investigated in detail. This study investigated the potential anti-aging and wound-healing effects of PPF stem and leaf extract in normal human dermal fibroblast (NHDF) cells and a mouse model of wound healing.
