The presentation should include:
A title slide page with the following elements (NB This is anonymous marking and therefore your name and ID student number are not required):
Your student cohort
Module code and name
Duration of presentation in minutes and seconds
The submission date Your seminar leader and module leader’s names
An introductory slide presenting the chosen topic and the presentation contents
A rationale for choosing the topic
Statistical and epidemiological health data related to your chosen topic.
A discussion on how health and social determinants are related to your chosen topic and how they may lead to inequalities in health outcomes within the adult population.
An understanding of how your public health topic may affect an adult throughout the lifespan.
The use of theory to demonstrate the principles of health promotion, protection and the prevention of ill health as related to your chosen topic.
An explanation of the role of the adult nurse in relation to public health initiatives and interventions which support the health of populations and individuals within the context of your chosen topic.
A conclusion to your presentation to summarise your key points.
In-text referencing throughout, including any pictures, graphs, tables etc. used from other sources structured correctly according to Harvard style as defined in Cite them Right Online.
A reference list of ALL sources displayed, used or named in your presentation.

This assignment has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your achievement of the following module learning outcomes:
LO 1 Demonstrate understanding of the theoretical basis and principles underpinning health promotion, protection and the prevention of ill-health through the lifespan.
LO 2 Identify the impacts of health and social determinants and how they lead to inequalities in health outcomes.
LO 3 Explain the role of the adult registered nurse in relation to initiatives and interventions for health populations and individuals.
LO 4 Source and utilise relevant health data that underpins evidence-based practice.
Task requirements
You must choose one of the priority public health topics listed above and prepare a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation with a voiceover following the assignment task above that meets the learning outcomes for this summative piece of work.
The duration of the PowerPoint presentation is 10 minutes +/- 10%. The timing of your presentation should be checked before submission as a loss of up to 5 marks will be incurred if your presentation is less than 9 minutes long or more than 11 minutes long.
The voiceover for each slide should reflect the verbal detail you would add to a presentation if this was to take place in front of a live audience.
Your submitted work must be a PowerPoint file with voiceover (pptx file format).
You can choose your PowerPoint template, design, colours, font size and line spacing.
Each slide must be numbered.
Write in an appropriately formal academic style, avoiding informal or spoken forms of language as well as contractions (e.g., don’t, won’t, etc.).
Ensure all aspects of the slides are clear, neat, readable and accurate, organised in a logical manner as well as referenced correctly (please see above/below for further referencing details).
Be sure not to identify any individual or organisation directly or by implication in your work (NMC, 2018). Equally, unless crucial to the argument and/or where the information is already in the public domain, refer to organisations only in the most general terms, e.g., an NHS trust.
If you have an appropriate learning disability sticker then ensure this is added to your title page when submitting your work so that reasonable adjustments can be made during the marking process as set out within the University’s SPLD guidelines.
Referencing and research requirements
Please reference your work both text and pictures, graphs, tables etc. according to the Harvard style as defined in Cite Them Right Online (http://www.citethemrightonline.com). Please log in using your Blackboard log in details.

How your work will be assessed
Your work will be assessed on the extent to which it demonstrates your achievement of the stated learning outcomes for this assignment (see above) and against other key criteria as defined by your programme team.
This assignment will be marked accordingly to the grading descriptors for level 4. A copy of the grading descriptors can be found in the Assignment brief information folder for NA 403 on the Blackboard shell.
Failure to submit your work (see further information below) will result in your work being treated as a non-submission which will then be referred.
Board and Referral Information
All marks received are provisional until they are confirmed at the assessment board for your cohort. If you have not achieved a 40% pass a decision will be made about whether you will be able to resubmit your work.
Registry will normally post the Board results within 5 working days after the Board (via the organisational shell) and these will confirm whether you are permitted to resubmit, and the confirmed deadline. An announcement will be made once the Board results are posted.
Please note: You are strongly advised to seek referral support from the module team if you are unsuccessful.
Submission details
Your presentation should be submitted electronically by the above date before 14.00 hours (2pm).
To submit electronically please use the relevant Turnitin submission point in the Submit your work area in your NA 403 Blackboard module shell.
Please ensure that your work has been saved in an appropriate file format – PowerPoint (pptx file format). (Please note - Turnitin will only accept the following file types: Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint, PostScript, PDF, HTML, RTF, OpenOffice (ODT), Hangul (HWP), Google Docs, or plain text). Your file must also contain at least 20 words of text, consist of fewer than 400 pages and be less than 40MB in size.
You can resubmit your work as many times as you like until the deadline. If you choose to resubmit, your earlier submission will be replaced by the most recent version, and you will not receive an Originality Report until 24 hours from when the submission was made.
Once you have submitted your work, you will receive a digital receipt as proof of submission, which will be sent to your forwarded e-mail address (provided you have set this up). Please keep this receipt for future reference, along with the original electronic copy of your assignment.
Please also note that work that is submitted up to 10 working days beyond the submission date will be considered a late submission. Late submissions will be marked, and the actual mark recorded but will be capped at the pass mark (typically 40%), provided that the work is of a passing standard. Work submitted after this period will not be marked and will be treated as a non-submission.
