The search strategy sought to published peer-reviewed papers in the English language from 2009 to 2019 (current). The search was completed using the following databases: ProQuest, Medline and Scopus using appropriate keywords. The study includes all types of review including cross-sectional study, systematic review, cohort study, randomised trial survey, descriptive survey. Only the peer-reviewed papers were included in this study. Results Fifteen studies were included in this survey. Out of them, four of them are cross-sectional studies, three of them are cohort study, two of them are descriptive review and randomised controlled trial, one of them is retrospective, a systematic review and evaluative project. One of them is semi-structured interviews. Alcohol and drug use have been discussed and overlapped in most of the studies. The consequences are discussed in each study with different health outcomes. However, most of the studies discuss the preventive health measures of alcohol and drug use among indigenous Australians. The research has been done to reduce the number of alcohol use and drug use and the patterns of alcohol use but has not provided the overall consequences in one study. Consequently, there is no study which has included the extent, health consequences and its impact in aboriginal communities. Conclusion Although Australia has been improving the health care services to its population, the health of Aboriginal people has not improved in terms of providing primary care and availability of health care providers. Alcohol use is a leading risk factor for global disease burden and causes substantial health loss. It was found that the risk of all-cause mortality, and of cancers specifically, rises with increasing levels of consumption, and the level of consumption that minimises health loss is zero. These results suggest that alcohol control policies might need to be revised worldwide, refocusing on efforts to lower overall population-level consumption.
