Case scenario: Amelia is an 80 year old lady who lives alone in Gippsland, Victoria. Amelia has Type II Diabetes, which was first diagnosed when she was 65. In the past Amelia enjoyed regular community activities and was an active and ongoing person. Recently Amelia has gained a significant amount of weight and she feels tired and unwell most days. Her diabetes is poorly controlled and she does not check her blood sugar regularly. Amelia has developed an arterial ulcer on her left lower leg and she attends the local doctor clinic three times a week for the nurse to dress and assess the ulcer. She has developed decreased mobility as the ulcer causes her lower leg pain when ambulating. Task: You task for this assessment is to develop a learning program based on the following scenario outlined below. Consider health education principles, Primary Health Care and Wellness model. Requirement: In the learning program you must include: 1. An introduction 2. A brief explanation of Amelia’s disability (Type II Diabetes). 3. An explanation stating the need for a learning program. 4. Write a Learning Program A. Explain the skill or behaviour Amelia needs to learn or change B.
