General Instructions:
This assessment will take place in the simulated workplace environment and the aim of this assessment is to demonstrate knowledge required to apply nursing practice in the primary health care setting
Please note that all the elements in the marking criteria below will be completed in sem 3 practical skill days
You will be provided with this assessment / care plan and falls risk during the activity and you must follow the instructions provided with the case study and instructions given by the assessor during the practical activity
Time allowed: As identified by your assessor.
Materials and equipment to be supplied by the Student:
You may be required to wear full nursing uniform (as per TAFE Qld uniform standards) and will require a working nursing kit, black pen and watch with a second hand.
Work, Health and Safety:
A work health and safety check of the assessment environment is to be conducted prior to the assessment and any hazards recorded and addressed appropriately by the student and referred to the supervising teacher.
Number of Attempts:
You are required to satisfactorily complete all assessments listed in the table below to be receive a ‘Competency Achieved’ result for the Unit(s) of Competency. You are responsible for complying with TAFE Queensland’s assessment rules and complete assessment tasks honestly. You need to follow all assessment instructions, including submission details and retain a copy of all assessment items. You must submit assessment on or by the due date, unless an extension has been granted. Failure to submit or complete assessment on or by the due date will result in a “did not submit/sit” (DNS) being recorded (unless there are exceptional circumstances) and you will have five (5) days to submit your second and final attempt. Refer to the TAFE Queensland Student Rules for details.
Assessment Criteria:
To achieve a satisfactory result, your assessor will be looking for your ability to demonstrate the key skills/tasks/knowledge detailed in the Observation Checklist to an acceptable industry standard.

Use of suitable facilities, equipment and resources in line with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council’s Standards
Modelling of industry operating conditions including access to real people for simulations and scenarios in enrolled nursing work.
All aspects of the marking criteria must be met in order to achieve a satisfactory result for this assessment.
Assessors must satisfy the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015/AQTF mandatory competency requirements for assessors.
In addition, assessors must hold current registration as a registered nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
