Through application of critical thinking, clinical reasoning and reflection you are to explore the key concepts: clinical leadership, advocacy, delegation, ethical decision making and scope of practice.

You are a graduate nurse and are working your first set of night shift. You and another RN are checking medication (Morphine 5mg s/c) for a patient. You have checked the medications and the count is correct. You are now required to complete the check of the medication and the patient. The RN tells you “I don’t need to go to the bedside, I know the patient and I’m too busy”
