Nursing Assignment Help

Task: ADEA (Australian Diabetes Educators Association) members practice collaboratively, with other health professionals and in partnership with their clients. They work in a wide range of practice settings including primary care, secondary and tertiary institutions and in private practice. (ADEA 2014, p4). It is important that diabetes educators understand the risks for developing diabetes, signs and symptoms of diabetes and tests used for diagnosis of diabetes. You will need to demonstrate knowledge of all of these factors. Task description Hypothetically you are a credentialed diabetes educator (CDE) working in a GP clinic. Milton, a long term patient of the clinic makes an appointment to see you to dress a wound on his toe. While talking to Milton you learn that he stubbed his toe eight weeks earlier and there has been no sign of it healing. Milton also tells you that he has been feeling very tired and he thinks this is because he has been getting up at night to empty his bladder. Milton is 68 and has been attending the clinic for mild hypertension. You suspect that Milton may have developed diabetes and you discuss this with the GP. What are the appropriate investigations the GP might order for Milton to diagnose diabetes? Discuss these tests and a rationale for each. Discuss the signs and symptoms of diabetes and the physiology behind three (3) of these symptoms.  Milton's test for diabetes come back positive. What type of diabetes do you think Milton may have? Explain your rationale. Your response must include a discussion of the features that distinguish type 1 and type 2 diabetes in adults, and specific investigations that might be clinically appropriate to determine the type of diabetes in Milton's case.
