ULO 3 - Retrieve and use nursing information using available information technology Deakin Graduate Learning Outcomes GLO 1 – Discipline knowledge & capabilities GLO2 - Communication GLO 3 – Digital Literacy GLO 4 - Critical Thinking GLO 5 – Problem Solving GLO 6 – Self-management Submission information: This assignment task is to be submitted into the designated assessment dropbox for this unit. Due date: Tuesday 9th July 2019 – assignment to be submitted no later than 11.59pm. To ensure appropriate support is available should any technical issues arise, you are strongly advised to submit your assignment into the designated dropbox before 4 pm on the due date. You are responsible for ensuring that the correct version of your assessment task is properly uploaded into the correct assessment dropbox. Student instructions for assessment task The following provides direction for how to approach this task.
  1. Undertake a literature search related to the topic chosen.
  2. From your literature search, select three (3) peer-reviewed journal articles that report on research studies addressing the chosen national standard and how it impacts quality and safety in healthcare.
  3. Only journal articles reporting on a research study can be included (this does not include literature reviews or systematic reviews).
  4. Article selection is worth 10 % of the allocated marks so teaching staff will not provide any feedback to students on the appropriateness of articles prior to the submission of this assignment.
  5. Write the annotated bibliography allocating approximately 300 words for each article (you do not need to include an introductory paragraph for this paper).
  6. Each annotation must include a summary of the research method (aim, design, setting and sample) and key findings.
  7. Finally, synthesise the findings from the articles you have annotated in a 600 word (referenced using only annotated articles) summary, and explain how these findings may inform clinical nursing practice.
  8. Direct quotations are not to be used in an annotated bibliography.
  9. Present the citations in alphabetical order.
  10. A reference list at the end of your annotated bibliography is NOT required
  11. You are also required to upload the three (3) articles you have selected into the dropbox along with your annotated bibliography.

  1. a) Each annotation must commence on a new page.
  2. b) The bibliographic information (i.e. reference) (this is not included in the word count).
  3. c) The explanatory paragraphs (the annotation), which provide:
