Task Details: Description of the nature of task 
You are expected to conduct Independent research into the experiences of the people (Jewish or non-Jewish) during the Holocaust and present this experience at the Holocaust Commemoration Day titled, 'My Experience Matters". 
You may choose to focus on the experiences of a specific individual or group of people, or you may choose to focus on a specific aspect of the Jewish experience. 
Possible focuses include: Ghettos Concentration Camps (e.g. Auschwitz-Birkenau, Dachau etc.) Children Rebels/resistance fighters. 
 

There are two components to this task: 
PART A: EMPATHY TASK - ORAL PRESENTATION Based on your chosen area of research as well as at least three primary sources, you are to imagine you were an individual who had lived and experienced the Holocaust. Compose a 3 minute speech on your experience of the Holocaust to be presented at the "My Experience Matters" Commemoration Day. 

PART B: LEARNING RESOURCE AND RATIONALE You are also expected to create a learning resource which will form a Library display at the "My Experience Matters" Commemoration Day, to assist fellow students understanding the Holocaust. This learning resource can be presented in a manner of your choosing however, the purpose of the resource is to Inform and educate others about an aspect of the Holocaust experience.

Possible learning resource ideas include:

• A PowerPoint or Adobe Spark Presentation
• A source booklet with brief summaries on the significance of each source
• A diorama (e.g. concentration camp)

• A short film clip (no more than 34 minutes)

An interview transcript with a Holocaust survivor 

You will be given class time to work on this assessment task.

You will be assessed on the level of research you conducted to create a comprehensive and historically accurate learning resource, as well as originality.
