Highlights
You are creating and presenting a Mind Map relating to a simulation case study.
A Mind Map is a conceptual tool used to represent and organise knowledge. Mind Maps allow you to make important connections between concepts to demonstrate your understanding of the complex case you are focusing on.
Part 1 - Mind Map
Create a Mind Map related to one of the simulation case studies from either Week 1 or 2
Mr Bruno Cavalier
Mrs Rosie Chey
To begin, identify the patient and their condition. You can access the patient's vital signs and medication charts in the face-to-face section of Canvas.
The rest of your information should be arranged under the following concept headings:
Include in-text citations to acknowledge where you have sourced your information.
Part 2 - Video presentation and recording
Record a minute video presentation explaining the Mind Map you have created.
All the concept findings (aetiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestation, nursing assessment, intervention and evaluations) must be explained in the video.
Identify and explain links between concepts demonstrating clinical reasoning and critical thinking.
Mr Bruno Cavalieri Case Study
Mr Cavalieri is a 76-year-old retired small business owner. Bruno is married to Rosa and they have five children, fifteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren all of whom live in Melbourne. Bruno and Rosa live in their own home in Oakleigh, they receive no home help or community supports. Until recently, Bruno was still working two days a week at the family’s cafe, but due to health reasons, he has recently had to cease doing this. Mr Cavalieri’s oldest son Miko, has now taken over the family business.
Over the last few days, Mr Cavalieri has been complaining to Rosa of increased general malaise. Unfortunately, his malaise has not been helped by a recent weight gain of 2kg and increased episodes of nocturia.
Yesterday, Mr Cavalieri presented to the Swinburne Base Hospital Emergency Department. Please read the following ISBAR handover.
