Pecha Kucha™ is a format of presentation that requires you to combine images, sounds, and spoken words consistently and coherently on a specific topic in a specific timeframe. This Pecha Kucha requires your group to develop 12 slides and to speak for 20 seconds per slide.

To be able to do this - your group will need to deeply and critically analyse the topic chosen so that you may form a concise statement for each slide. There will be 3-4 people in each group. Therefore, each of you will speak on 3-4 slides.

You must also provide an individual paper via EASTS. The details are outlined below.

In this assignment you will form an online Community of Practice with your fellow students in the subject, to develop a shared Pecha Kucha™ presentation about one of the following sustainable network activities:

The topics are:

• Supervision in Dyadic, Group, Peer, or Team Supervision formats,
• Professional Coaching and/or Mentoring
• Membership in Professional Associations, Colleges, or Institutes
• Industrial Organisations
• Online Professional Networking Platforms (e.g., YAMMER ™, LinkedIn™)and in a specific field of practice:
• Therapeutic, (counselling, group work, rehabilitative case management)
• Emancipatory, (advocacy, community development work)
• Regulatory, (statutory case management, policy development, and implementation)
• Academic/Scientific, (research, evaluation, training)
• Administrative/Managerial (reporting, accountability, authority, etc).

All students must participate in the group process and make an equal contribution to the overall group activity.

Students will be allocated to groups of 3 or 4 at the beginning of Week 2 of the session based on geographic location. Please introduce yourself in week 1 and say where you are located.

I will set up a grid in Interact 2 for this subject under the Assessment 2 tab so that groups can easily select their topics without duplication. As you can see there are more than 65 possible topics and therefore no 2 presentations will be on the same topic.

The grid works in the following way; if we select topic 24, for example, that is examining the role of industrial organisations for and with workers who work in the area of emancipatory community development work. It's about what the industrial organisations do for the human services workers .

Some topics have options, for example, in topic 1 the group can choose to look at dyadic (one- to-one) supervision, peer supervision, group supervision, or team supervision for people who work in the area of therapeutic counselling. Your group would choose only one of the types of supervision - not all four.

PART 1

As a group choose one topic and record your selection on the Interact 2 Discussion Board for the subject by Thursday in Week 4 (21 March 2024). The next day is the Census date.

Establish shared guidelines and time-frames for communicating, and completing this project on schedule. You will need to use your groupwork knowledge (See Douglas, 2000 to achieve this). A timeline will be provided by the Subject Coordinator and will be available on the Lecture slides and in the Assessment 2 tab in the navigation bar for the Interact 2 site.

Your group must meet at least once face-to-face either on an online platform or teleconference or meeting in person. groups that attempt to do all the work asynchronously will find it difficult to complete the individual assignment to a pass level.

The structure for the Pecha Kucha is:

Slide 1 is your Title and an Acknowledgement of Country Slides 2-13 (that is 12 slides) are your assessable work.

Slide 14 is your reference list (in APA7) - the sources used in the Pecha Kucha including images and graphics.

Each slide has a duration of 20 seconds. 12 slides, therefore, take 4 minutes. The whole presentation including the Acknowledgement and time for people to see the references would be 5 minutes maximum.

Negotiate the allocation of topics and the perspective the group will take. This is part of your group's forming stage .

Review each other's work for editorial purposes (recommending and negotiating changes to format, spelling or grammar, or referencing). This is part of your group's norming stage.

Agree the work is final and ready to be assessed. This is part of your group's performing stage. Load the Pecha Kucha™ presentation on the required platform.

The Pecha Kucha™ presentation will be made visible to all the other students in the subject. There will be a section on the Interact 2 Discussion Board for comments.

The group is welcome to submit the presentation at any time before the due date provided that the whole group agrees that the work is final and ready to be assessed .

Don't forget to put an Acknowledgement of Country at the start of your presentation.

As an individual member of the group you must research an aspect of professional networking agreed to with the group, and prepare an item explaining/describing how this aspect contributes to sustainable professional practice. You will refer to academic literature and/or professional resources. You will provide the references you find to your group and the group will decide which references to use. You do the voice-over for your section of the Pecha Kucha™. You are responsible for checking that your references comply with APA7. The group mark will be affected if references are incomplete or inaccurate.
