Before exams
1. Exam timetables are currently available to view on the Computing-Student-Info-Dublin page under topic 3. Timetables And Academic Calendar
2223. Timetables are also available on the noticeboard in the Wellington building. - Locations of exams can be found on day of the exams in the main reception, in the AF building or on the exam notice board in the Link Block near the lift.
2. You Cannot Bring Coats/Bags/Notes pencil cases (that are not transparent) MOBILE PHONES, or Smart watches / Fitbits into exams. These are contraband items and if these items are found on a student, the student in question will be written up and reported to their faculty. This will result in a disciplinary hearing.
3. Ensure you have a reasonable supply of writing materials - pencils, pens etc.
4. You should arrive at the examination hall at least 30 minutes before your exam is scheduled to start.
5. Find where you will be sitting in the venue before you enter. Your seat number will be displayed outside the exam hall / room.
6. Make sure you bring your student card. The only other valid forms of picture id will be accepted will be a passport or a drivers licence. Please remember to take these with you when leaving the exam hall as they may go missing and not returned.
During exams
1) You may not leave the exam hall during the first or last hour of the examination. If your exam is 2 hours long, you cannot leave the exam hall during the exam period at all.
2) The use of reference material is permitted for use during certain examinations. If this is the case you will be informed prior to the examination. Please ensure that your reference materials have been checked by an invigilator before commencement of the exam. (Standard English dictionaries will be available for use where permitted)
3) You are required to act in accordance with any instructions issued by the Senior Invigilator.
4) It is your responsibility to check that you have received the correct exam paper. If you are in any doubt please raise your hand and an invigilator will deal with your query.
5) If you require an extra answer booklet or have any other query you must attract the attention of an invigilator without disturbing other candidates.
6) You may not speak to, or otherwise communicate with other students during the examination (in and outside the examination room). Any attempt to do so may be considered academic misconduct and could result in disciplinary action. Any student causing a disturbance may be asked to leave the exam venue.
7) Write your exam number, seat number, course, module code, venue, campus and stage/year, as requested clearly on the front of the answer booklet in the spaces provided. All students are issued with an Exam number. This can be found on the first page on mygcd.ie. Student names/numbers are not to be written on exam scripts.
8) You may only write on answer booklets and other official examination stationery provided at the exam.
9) Anything you write in your answer booklet that you consider ‘rough work’ should be clearly labelled as such.
10) You may not take answer booklets out of the exam hall nor remove any part of them.
11) If you require a calculator for your exam it is your responsibility to bring your own calculator to your exam.
