Report Writing Assignment Help:

Task: Task A. Perform a search on two (2) of the topics listed below using the University library databases (not Google or Google Scholar). Present the four (4) best peer reviewed abstracts relevant to each topic you have chosen (ie. 8 abstracts in total; 4 abstracts for each of 2 topics). Check that the journal is a peer reviewed journal. List of topics (choose two): • Behaviour based safety • Safety specific leadership • Pilot training • Safety climate in aviation Details of the abstracts you chose should be provided, including the text of the abstract, the authors, year published, journal title, volume and page numbers, as well as the details of the database through which you found the article. Write a brief paragraph (4-5 sentences) outlining why you chose the particular abstracts for each topic (ie. one paragraph per topic, two paragraphs in total). The abstracts chosen should be academic articles from a scholarly source. “Peer reviewed” means that other people experienced in the field have read the article and reported on the quality and appropriateness of the article to an editorial board. So, such articles have been subjected to external academic scrutiny (this does not mean that everything you read in a peer reviewed journal should be accepted at face-value). You simply need to check that the journal engages in a peer-review process before choosing articles for your assignment. You do not have to go and read the full article for this part of the assignment (though it may help you if the articles are relevant to other parts of the course/other assignments). Seek assistance from university library online to find your way around the databases. The aim of this task is to give you practice in finding appropriate resources using the library. It is hoped that this will help you with the major assignment. Topics not relevant to the major assignment have been included to give you experience in searching for more than one topic. What constitutes the “best” abstracts is somewhat subjective, but imagine that you had to write an essay on the topic in question. A question you may like to ask yourself is: Would the abstract in question give the most useful information, relative to others available in the same area? Task B. Choose one of the topics above that you researched in Task A. Imagine that you have to write a brief report on this topic to people who knew nothing about it. Use the scholarly resources you found in Task A, to prepare a brief written report (500-800 words) that covers the most issues important to enable a broad understanding of the concept. You should consider definition, importance, practical implications, measurement issues, and controversies surrounding the concept. Issues considered in marking include: Task A: appropriateness of abstracts found; relevance to topic, whether the journal is peer reviewed; quality of the abstracts; adherence to task requirements. Task B: coverage of the topic – scope and depth; identification and communication of key issues relevant to the topic; analysis of issues discovered in the literature; presentation and clarity of writing and presentation; appropriateness of referencing.
