You should be able to present on the underlying perspective and key arguments and locate the strengths and weaknesses of the article.  You should analyse and critique the underlying concepts and ideas, the context in which the article was produced, the method by which the research was conducted and the application of theory to practice within the event industry.
   
Note that this article is not specific to the events management environment, so you are expected to apply the concepts discussed in the article to the event management industry and critique their relevance, or not, to the HRM challenges faced by the events management industry. Any claims made about the events HRM environment should be supported by evidence. 
 
You should compare the article to other relevant articles, including event management articles where possible as this forms part of your critique. Your critique should be evidenced through the use of other appropriate texts and research which support or refute your arguments and provide competing or supporting perspectives. 

Particular Instructions to Students 

When presenting, you should consider: 
• The broad strategic approaches to HRM by explaining these; 
• How these are relevant to events companies which operate nationally and internationally; 
• Provide a conclusion on the HRM approaches adopted in the article and whether they are appropriate to the events industry. 
 
You should support your arguments by referring to event leadership and management academic articles and journals, and, where appropriate, academic theory which should be applied to an events management context. Remember you are outlining the strategic HRM approaches for an event company, and you should critique these theoretical strategies. The presentation should consider the content of the course from weeks 1 to 6.
