Step 1: Read the following scenario and familiarise yourself with the data The owner of a local restaurant is interested in how customers are satisfied with his restaurant. A survey has been designed and was administered to 150 customers where each customer was asked if they agreed with 8 specific statements regarding the restaurant.

The responses have been coded into Excel with the following possible responses and can be found in Survey results (XLSX 17 KB). As mentioned below at step 3, you are only required to analyse one of the statements. Please use the statement number based on the corresponding final digit of your student ID number. (Note If this number is 0 then use statement 1, if it is 9 use statement 2).

The responses were coded into Excel with the following possible responses:

• Strongly Disagree
• Disagree
• Neutral
• Agree
• Strongly Agree 

The customer's gender (GENDER) and age (AGE) was also recorded. GENDER is coded as 0 = male and 1 = female.

Important: Make sure you state what dataset you have used for your calculations on the front page of your submission.

The owner has now asked you to analyse one specific statement. The question number is based on the final digit of your student ID number. (Note If this number is 0 then use question 1 and is number is 9 use question 2):

1. The food was served hot and fresh.

2. The menu had an excellent selection of items.

3. The quality of food was excellent.

4. We were seated promptly.

5. A server was there to take our order quickly.

6. The server was friendly and patient when taking our order.

7. Our server coordinated the timing of the courses perfectly.

8. The dining experience was excellent. For the following questions, perform a hypothesis test for each, using a 5% level of significance.

i. Can we conclude that the 5 coded responses for your question are equally likely?

ii. Can we conclude that responses of your question are dependent on the customer's gender?
