Summative

The Setup: R2D2 and C3P0 are two teams of droids that love to compete with each other through the Galaxy racing to reach their destinations as fast as possible. • The Galaxy is a drawing panel that has a dimension of no more than 900 pixels wide by 500 pixels high. • The Galaxy must contain at least 4 droids (two for each team) placed at the starting point of the race. The starting points for each droid is your choice. • The race trajectory for each droid may start and end at different locations but must be equal in length. The shape of the trajectory is your choice. • The user interface for your game should have a title, buttons to start the game and the user must be able to reset the game at any time. Your application window should be no bigger than 1000 pixels wide by 650 pixels high in total.

The Rules: • Each droid uses the Die class to take turns to roll two dice. Six (6) face dice must be used. • The sum of the two-dice roll determines the maximum number of steps the droids can take in each turn, except if the sum is 2, 3 or 12, in which case, that droid skips its turn. The step size in pixels is your choice but must be the same for each droid. • A droid must wait in its last position until its next turn. It is your choice whether the user needs to keep clicking to roll the dice to make the droids move, or if the droids keep rolling the dice on their own once the game is started. • The game ends when one of the droids reaches its destination. That droid’s team is the winner. • When the game ends, the number of steps taken by each droid and any information about the game that may be useful to the user, should be displayed in a user-friendly manner.

The Deliverables: You and your team must complete the following: 1. A class relationship diagram of your system – using the Unified Modelling Language (UML) notation. Please consult the Class Relationship diagram lesson in your notes. This part will be used for feed back for you and will not be marked for correctness. Your mark will be either complete (Lvl 4++) or not submitted (Lvl R). Please submit this in a pdf document. 2. A Droid class, which must inherit from an appropriate Picture, ImagePicture or TextPicture class made recently. You must not change any of the classes from which it inherits. The Droid class should at least have private data to store the total number of steps taken by the droids to complete the race and can have other data that you feel may be useful. There should be methods to access this data and it should use inherited or new methods to do useful things such as paint, botMove, botTurnaround, get and set the total number of steps, etc.
